    • A ManSEA Award was developed this year for schools to honour the work of Wayne Digby
    • Last year Wayne won the Manitoba Environmental Industries Association’s Lifetime Achievement, to honour him for a lifetime of accomplishments
    • Wayne grew up in Western Manitoba (Roblin)

    • A graduate of the University of Manitoba with an undergraduate degree in Agriculture and Masters in Adult Education from St. Francis Xavier University
    • He was an agricultural scientist, with a lifetime of work in sustainable agricultural research and practices in Canada, Africa, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and the Ukraine
    • He was also an avid volunteer with 4-H Clubs, various environmental groups, CUSO, Manitoba Historical Society, to name but a few

This award was created to honour Wayne’s work

  • The Wayne Digby Sustainable Energy award is dedicated to the advancement of students in grades 11 and 12, that are intending to pursue post-secondary education in the environmental sciences field
  • This includes studies in electrical or solar education, as well as other forms of post-secondary education in the environmental sciences

  • The focus of this project should be on renewable or sustainable energy
