PROCEDURE(how to video link):

1.TAKE BALL OF CLAY(virtual students can substitute Play-doh or Sculpey)

2. MAKE INDENTION IN THE MIDDLE WITH YOUR FINGER

3. USE YOUR HANDS TO PINCH OUT THE SIDES TO FORM A BOWL

4. ADD TEXTURE TO THE EXTERIOR OF THE BOWL(see next slide(4) for additional ideas...)

5. CARVE YOUR INITIALS AND YOUR BLOCK NUMBER INTO THE EXTERIOR OF THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL… can add the date if you wish.

6. Take at least 4 pics(Aerial, Profile, Facing, & Isometric..examples on slide 5), put them on public slides, put the slides on your published site, submit the link to your site on Canvas.

7. PUT your clay creation ON THE METAL RACK TO DRY

8….. We will let the clay dry for 7 days… then fire it in the kiln… then you will glaze your bowl… then we will fire it again… then we will grade it and you can take it home!
