Who Are We?

MillikanSEGA is a CTE industry focussed pathway at Millikan High School in Long Beach. Two years ago, the pathway changed its focus from IT to Software Engineering and Game Design and Development.

We are seeking assistance from Community Members who have experience in the Game Design and Development, and/or Programming Industry who can act in an advisory capacity to guide us with our curriculum creation,student opportunities, to give our students a peek into the industry.

Why is this Important?

  1. Our funding requires that we seek involvement from the community to assure that our program is effective at giving students the skills that they will need if they pursue careers in or related to this industry.
  2. We are teachers who have limited (if any) professional experience in your industry. We want to assure that we are teaching necessary skills.
  3. We are hoping to give our students access to professionals in the field who are diverse in their race, gender and ability levels, so that they understand that there is a place for them when they graduate or after college.

How does this benefit you?

  • Networking with other professionals and the community;

  • Sharing information with the community about your profession/organization;

  • Giving back to the community - to help students find their path.
