General Information

  • Tutoring starts 8/25/25 and goes until 3:30. Questions bcoe@coralacademy.org
  • Clubs start 8/25/25. Students may attend as many as they like
  • Coral Care started on 8/11/25 and goes until 6pm. Questions dswanson@coralacademy.org
  • Hot lunches started 8/11/25. Need to order early. See our website
  • Microwaves are available at all lunches
  • PE uniforms will be needed for all PE classes
  • No late items (such as backpacks, projects, work etc) will be accepted at any time. Lunches/water bottles will be accepted at any time
  • Cell phones are not allowed out in the building at any time even after school. The phone will be taken.
  • Students are not allowed on campus before 7:45 unless they are enrolled in morning Coral Care.
  • Parent/visitors MUST check in at the front office. For safety!!!!
  • The Boys and Girls Club bus will come every day right after school (3:00 on Wednesdays; 3:30 every other day)
  • Students will be sent to Coral care after 3:05.
  • Your child must be off campus by 3:05pm. There will be no supervision after this time.

General Information Continued

  • Please do not send your children to school with any flu like symptoms for the safety of teachers and students. This could include, but not limited to: vomiting, fever, coughing, sneezing, fatigue, dizziness, etc)
  • Water bottles are recommended. They cannot be glass containers.
  • Student may not have caffeinated/coffee/energy drinks at any time.
  • Students have been assigned lockers. It is best if they have a combo lock.
  • Detention will be announced on Monday’s in Mr. Cecconi’s room Portable 2 from 2:55-3:30 (or 4pm if a level 2) and in Ms. Beardsley’s room 126 on Thursdays same times.
  • Saturday detention is one Saturday a month. It is from 7:30 am-11:30 am. Your child and you will be notified prior to the day through email.
  • Email is the main source of communication. Please update this information with Ms. Healy, our registrar, if it has changed. shealy@coralacademy.org

Student Planner/Agenda Book

  • Successful, daily use is required.
  • Students write their homework down each day. Some teachers have students write homework for the week.
  • Teachers will initial/stamp it daily
  • Parents, please check it to make sure all homework is done. There is homework each night.
  • Planners must be brought to each class.
  • Replacement costs $10.

Uniform / Personal Appearance

  • Shirts must be tucked in at all times (including recess and lunch time )
  • Shoes are to be plain, ALL black- No non black logos or silver eyelets. Boots no more than ankle high and ALL black
  • Haircuts are not to be extreme. Hair cannot be spiky, an unnatural color or noticeable two tone.
  • No non uniform jackets are allowed

to be worn in the classroom or

hallways.

  • Pants must be a Dickie like uniform material – all black/Black jeans are allowed. Keep fading in mind.
  • Skirts or skorts must be no more than 3” above the knee.
  • No cargo, capri or jogger pants
  • allowed.
  • No Pockets on legs
  • No ripped clothes even with backing
  • Facial and body piercing are not acceptable.
  • No writing is allowed on uniforms or skin.
  • Tattoos must be covered
  • Earrings must be studs only.

Students will receive a detention for

uniform violations.

FREE DRESS DAYS

Throughout the year Middle School has free dress days. Most are $2 and some are free.

  • Free dress days will be announced on the school website.
  • For color days (red& green, Earth day, etc.) The outfit MUST be at least 50% of the color that is required.
  • For regular $2 free dress students must be in appropriate clothing.
  • Students are responsible to know when there is a free dress or not. Wearing free dress on a non free dress day results in a detention.
  • Typically free dress is on Friday (not always), - every Friday is NOT a free dress.
  • (Leggings and a shirt are not acceptable unless the shirt is 3 inches above knee)

There are cameras in every classroom and outside.

They also have sound.

For misbehaviors in the classroom-cameras will be reviewed and consequences issued.

If a student is not truthful, consequences are doubled.

Due to confidentiality (FERPA), parents cannot review cameras.

The Middle School campus is fully gated.

The rear gates close at 8:30 (school starts at 8:20).

The afternoon time for the gate in the back of the school to open is 2:30pm. Release time is 2:50 pm.

The exit gate opens automatically when leaving. This gate will be fully open during pick up time.

There is a small entry gate in the front of the school. Parents will be buzzed in when they arrive during the day.

PROMOTION POLICIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

MIDDLE SCHOOL/ELEMENTARY PROMOTION POLICY�

  • A yearly passing grade from all four-core subjects: English, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science.

  • Should your child fail a core class, they must attend summer school.

  • A student cannot make up more than one full class in summer school. They will be retained.

ACADEMIC PROBATION

  • Students failing ANY class for the quarter report card will be placed on academic probation
  • Their membership in any club/sport will

be suspended and,

    • They will be unable to attend any fun events/dances/fundraisers
    • They will not be allowed to have free dress
  • Lost privileges last until they are off probation in the next quarter.
