Aims for tonight:

  • To find out what is offer for S5 pupils at Inverness Royal Academy?
  • To understand more about what the range of qualifications look like?
  • To know what is involved in the course choice process and where can we find help to make the right decisions.

Moving into S5

  • Pupils will choose 5 subjects, one in each option block
  • Pupils will usually spend 6 periods in each subject block
  • In addition, for one period a week, all S5s will work towards an additional qualification or have a period to study
  • All pupils will have PSE

  • Out of school courses are available in Higher Drama and Dance
  • Applications open of the 12th of January
  • Pupils must be committed and prepared to attend weekend and evening sessions
  • This is a great opportunity for any young person interested in the creative arts to develop their skills and gain a qualification while studying within a professional theatre

  • 14th of January: Parent information evening about options
  • 20th of January: Parents’ evening
  • 26th of January: Course Choice forms returned to Guidance teachers

Interviews with Guidance will happen during this period to discuss options.
