MIDDLE SCHOOL REGISTRATION

• After previewing the 2023-34 course offerings at the Showcase, use this website 2023-2024 Registration to select the courses for your student’s upcoming school year.

​

• The Virtual showcase on the website will remain open with the course descriptions and guidance from teachers and counseling to register your student for the 2023-24 school year.

​

• Throughout this process, if you have any questions please fill out this Registration Questions form and a staff member will get back to you shortly.

​

• Parents and students should discuss options available and make decisions regarding course requests.

​

• 6th grade Registration will be completed by February 17, 2023.

​

Typical 6^th Grade Schedule

Intervention During Flight

Gifted and Talented:

Students identified as gifted and talented are served through a pull out

Dyslexia:

Students identified as dyslexic are served through a pull out

Reading Intervention:

For students who did not meet minimum score on most recent STAAR reading test, MAP assessments and/or district assessments

Math Intervention:

For students who did not meet minimum score on most recent STAAR math test, MAP assessments and/or district assessments

Middle School Math Course Sequencing

Enrollment in Algebra I Honors requires that 7th Grade Math Accelerated was successfully completed.

PE

• -Similar to the current 5th grade PE class.

• -Focus is a NON-COMPETITIVE and fun environment filled with fun games/activities

• -Focus on a wide range of basic beginner level sports, fun games, as well as fitness for health purposes

• -Student is NOT interested in trying out for 7^th grade athletics teams

​

• -Co-ed environment in which boys and girls will participate in the same class

​

• -Do NOT dress out, but must wear athletic shoes

​

​

Pre-Athletics

• Pre-athletics is much more difficult than PE, and will prepare your student to try out for ISMS athletics teams in 7^th grade
• -Focus is a COMPETITIVE team sports environment, consisting of vigorous workouts, and specific sports related skill work
• -Sport focus will include; Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Track/Field, & Soccer.
• -Prepares students to try-out for 7^th grade athletics teams for sports listed above

• -Classes will be separated into a girls only class and a boys only class
• Students MUST purchase and dress out into school appropriate pre-athletic gear (shirt, shorts). Must also wear athletic shoes.

Grade 6: Reading, Mathematics

Verification and Changes

Once you submit the registration form for your student, you will receive a verification email.

​

The verification email CONFIRMS your students course selection but is not their schedule.

​

Please re-submit the registration form if you wish to make a change.

On February 17, the most recent changes will be submitted into Aeries.

​

The course selections in Aeries will be viewable to parents and students from February 21-March 3.

​

Any changes to course requests after February 10 will need to be sent via email from parents or a Course Change Form. The deadline for these changes is March 3.

​

Students will receive their 6^th grade schedule when they return to school in August 2023.

Schedule changes will not be made once they receive their schedule.
