Walking School Bus Overview & Concept
- October 9th is the Safe Routes to School ”Walk to School” Day state-wide!!!
- Academy takes that up a notch, we implemented the walking school bus model to encourage more children and families to participate.
- From three different starting points, students, families, and staff will make their way walking through our neighborhood, making stops, on their way to school.
- By using these routes, we are modeling for the children safe and healthy ways to come to school each morning.
- Besides exercise, it’s a great way for children to connect with other children in their neighborhoods and make their way to school together.
- There are three “bus stations” where groups will depart. Essex St, Legion Field, and Broad Street. See which one your child would take on the following slides.
