ISBE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT CODE: INDICATOR 6A

WHAT: PRESCHOOL PALS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO PROMOTE INCLUSION AMONGST ALL OF OUR STUDENTS IN THE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

• We plan once a month with the whole Preschool team. The team comes up with a core word that umbrellas the activities.

 For example: If the core word is UNDER….

        The students for:

OT -look for puzzle pieces under rice

PT-using scooters… scoot under the table

      Teachers-tracing/copying/writing/identifying letters under the table

• Teachers/Related Services will run centers. Paras help keep students engaged at centers.

OTHER INCLUSION OPPORTUNITIES:

• GROSS MOTOR TIME(GYM OR PARK)
• SMALL GROUPS (3 TIMES A WEEK)
• 4 ECE STUDENTS PUSH INTO PFA 4 DAYS A WEEK FOR 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES.
