Running Record (F&P): Benchmark Assessments
Running Record: Spanish
Adding a Progress Monitoring score for a measure NOT tied to an intervention
For progress monitors administered outside the scope of an intervention (MTSS referrals, collecting data for determinations, etc), this is the ideal place to add those data points!
This can only be done one student at a time; if you have multiple students using the same progress monitor and it IS an intervention, it’s best practice to add the intervention. Interventions will display on teachers’ data walls - Monitors not tied to an intervention are only visible in the Student Profile.
Adding a Progress Monitoring score for a measure NOT tied to an intervention
Definitions and Notes
TERMS
Benchmark Assessments are administered seasonally or annually; (iReady Diagnostic, PALS K); they are typically used to establish a baseline or evaluate progress toward a longer-term outcome. They are longer assessments as they require more items to reliably assess standard mastery. Note: eCM permits one benchmark score per window.
Progress Monitors are administered more frequently than benchmarks and target specific skills in isolation, thus requiring fewer questions. They are sensitive enough to quickly detect student response to an intervention or instruction.
Probes are assessments used to clarify, qualify, or augment benchmark results and/or contribute to a body of evidence.
Just as we can use summative assessments formatively, assessments are defined by their use as well as their features. The same assessment can be used as a probe and as a progress monitor, for example.
UPLOADS vs Manual Entry
Some assessments are uploaded automatically by the assessment team, including but not limited to:
Other assessments are entered by the school site, such as:
Contact the assessment department at http://stvra.in.ecmhelp if you have any questions about this process. Most assessments are the same as they were in Alpine, but if you have a spreadsheet, we can probably upload it!
