Some Considerations

  • This is an intergenerational dialogue - invitation to explore the different generational approaches and responses to finding new economic models in society
  • Climate change is not one generations problem or responsibility - avoid “It’s your generation’s responsibility now…”
  • We come from different contexts and experiences: Acknowledge that approaches to reducing carbon emissions look different across the world - for example riding bicycles (choice vs necessity) - Avoid “Everyone should…”
  • Recognise unequal contributions to climate change between countries and this impacts our realities of how we engage in the conversation

Some Considerations

  • We recognise the climate is in crisis and capitalism is making it worse, so there is need for a new economic model. ALSO that extreme weather and economic disruption is going to continue which is why it is important for us to be choosing alternative and adaptive practices for living.

  • What jobs are available in your communities that help meet these or enact these? Or what jobs or new organizations / businesses need to be created to best carry out this goal?
  • What in your community is the biggest obstacle for practicing this economic model?
