Project Purpose

Design and create collaborative programs that prepare students for jobs in the expanding field of virtual production.

  • Virtual production is fast becoming an integral part of film, video, and broadcast pipelines
  • New pathways for students studying game design, XR/VR, video, IT, and project integration and management
  • Over 120 major virtual production studio facilities across the globe, and that number is quickly increasing
  • Demand for qualified talent is high, while the availability of skilled people is low

    • Lab costs (only 3 colleges have or are building out VP labs)
    • Differing emphasis of graphic design, game design, XR/VR, and/or film programs at individual colleges
  • Collaborative programs increase
    • Student accessibility of courses when and where they need them
    • Enrollment at colleges offering required courses
