School and district policies

When using AI tools with the students participatimg, it is important to know the age limits set by the district and the AI program. At this time, magic school AI with the class set up and controlled by the teacher is the best option to use if the students will be participating with the AI. We should be attentive to district and school policies as they are developed. Do not use student names or identifying information when putting your information into any AI engine as that information can be collected. For staff, the district is currently providing the full version of ChatGPT which is known as “CoPilot” in your Edge Browser. If you are logged in to your Microsoft account, your information is not collected, but if you are not logged in, it is collected. Again, never put student names in an AI generator. Teachers can also use the AI features in programs such as Conker, Kahoot, Wakelet, Gimkit, and Quizezz. I am certain this will change over time, so again be aware of new information from your school administration, media specialist, or TTIS.
