  • New Standard Senior Living has developed almost 500 affordable assisted living units in Atlantic and Cumberland counties by converting underutilized hotels
  • First purpose built, assisted living residences in the state financed through Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Tax Exempt Bonds -    100% of residents meet Federal standards for Affordability and about 90% of those residents are on Medicaid
  • Partnered with each of the three municipalities to ensure that the projects met Mt Laurel/COAH Affordable Housing obligations
  • Saving the state millions in Medicaid dollars as the projects help to address the States' goal of moving residents from Institutional Settings to Home and Community Based Settings-  over $120/resident in daily savings

Increase engagement among NJ ALP providers to increase capacity and knowledge exchange of promising practices.

Create a unified voice to support increased awareness building, thought leadership and advocacy to scale the ALP model.

Facilitate connections between NJ ALP Providers and key stakeholders (e.g. state administrators, MCOs, property managers and other key state initiatives).

  • Established in 2019 through Brightside Family leadership

  • Supported by The Henry and Marilyn Taub Foundation

  • Fostering innovative models to expand choice for low income older adults

  • Facilitate replication and scale of the ALP model to expand access for individuals “priced out” of traditional assisted living residences.

    • Streamline and mitigate barriers for starting/expansion

    • Reimbursement level adequate to deliver quality care

    • Understand business and operating structure to sustain/grow model.
