Sun Life Philippines is once again recertified as a “Great Place to Work” in 2023 after 85% of its employees affirmed their overall positive employee experience with the company.

The results came after Sun Life’s employees responded to an independently conducted survey by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture. The outcome of the survey shows that 93% feel fair treatment regardless of sexual orientation, 92% feel fair treatment regardless of race or gender, 91% affirm that the workplace is physically safe, and 90% will tell others that they are proud to work at Sun Life.

Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - the company was recognized as one of the Industry Champions of The Year for demonstrating an ability to evolve the focus of the business along with the dynamic changes in its industry to sustain market leadership.

Sun Life was likewise recognized in the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA), where it was once again bestowed with the Corporate Excellence Award for demonstrating effective talent mobilization and organizational capability that deliver consistent business results while remaining aligned to the organization’s purpose.

For the fifth consecutive year, Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. was once again recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) for good corporate governance.

Sun Life was bestowed with a Two Golden Arrow Award, which is given to insurance companies and publicly listed companies that score 90 to 99 points in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). The assessment measures the performance of companies based on how they facilitate the rights and the equitable treatment of shareholders, how they relate to their different stakeholders, and how they ensure transparency and accountability through timely disclosure of material information. It also looks into how the board guides the company strategically, monitors the management, and ensures the board’s accountability to the company and the shareholders.

Sun Life once again garnered the highest honors in the Trusted Brands Awards for 2023. The recognitions are based on a survey commissioned by Reader’s Digest Asia, where Sun Life was chosen by Filipino consumers as their most trusted Life Insurance and Investment Fund Company brand, thus earning the Platinum Award for both categories.
