Major Beliefs and Practices of the South Seas Evangelical Church of Solomon Islands.
Purpose
3.3 THE AFFIRMATIONS FOR ACCEPTANCE OR NON – ACCEPTANCE OF MINISTRY IN SOUTH SEA EVANGELICAL CHURCH, SOLOMON ISLANDS.
3.3.1 We belief and affirm the trinity of the Godhead. God is one being subsisting eternally in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all whom are equally God in essence (Gen 1: 2, 26, Deut 6: 4, Matt 28: 18 – 20, John 6: 27, Acts 5: 3-4, 2 Cor 13:14, Heb 1:8)

3.3.2 We belief and affirm the divinity and humanity of Jesus Christ, that is, the eternal deity of Christ – being in the very nature God, and the real humanity of Christ, - being made in human likeness, with real flesh and bones. (Phil 2:6, Col 1:15, 2:9, Heb 1:3, 1 Jn 1: 1 – 3, 4: 2 – 3, Luk 2: 2: 40 – 52, Jn 11: 35, 19: 32 – 37).
3.3.3 We believe and affirm the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ, that is Christ’s death was the propitiation (appeasing of God’s wrath),as well as the expiation (dealing with man’s sin and guilt) for the sins of mankind (Luk 23: 26 – 56, Rom 5: 6-11. 2 Cor 5:21. Heb 7: 27. 1 Jn 2:2. 1 Pet 1: 17 – 21; 2: 24 25).
3.3.4 We belief and affirm the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, his ascension, and his visible return to this earth in the future (Matt 27: 57 – 28:20. Acts 1: 1 – 18, 1 Cor 15: 1 – 58, Jn 14: 1 – 1-3, 1 These 4: 13 – 18).
3: 3.5. We believe and affirm that Jesus Christ is unique and is above all religious leaders ever lived on earth either in the past, present or future. (Jn 1: 1 -18. Rom 5: 12 – 20. Eph 1: 3 – 10. Phil 2: 5 – 11. Col 1: 15 – 22, Heb 1: 1 – 9).
3.3.6 We belief and affirm that the Holy Spirit is equally God, as is the father, and the son relates to them as a person. (Matt 28: 19, Jn 14: 16 – 17. 2 Cor 13: 14, Heb 10: 15 – 17. Acts 5: 3-4).
3.3.7 We belief and affirm that the Holy Spirit was actively involved in both the Old and the New Testament providing anointing, empowering, filling, baptizing, convicting, producing boldness, purity, sanctity, fruit, prayer, gifts and indwelling of the believers in the past, present and future (Gen 1:2. Ps 104: 29 – 30. Judges 6: 33- 34. Acts 1: 8; 8: 14 – 17).
3.3.8 We belief and affirm that the baptism in or by the Holy Spirit is the initiatory action in which at conversion, the believer receives the Spirit and is baptized into the body of Christ, the church, a one-time event, which occurs at salvation for all who believe in Jesus Christ (Acts 8: 14 – 17, Rom 6: 1 – 14. 1 Cor 12: 13; 27 – 30).
3.3.9 We belief and affirm that all believers from the moment of salvation are permanently and fully indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who lives in them. (Jn 3: 34; 14: 17. 1 Cor 3: 16. Rom 8:9).
3.3.10 We belief and affirm that there are subsequent fillings of the Holy Spirit again and again throughout our life as believers. (Eph 5: 18).
3.3.11 We believe and affirm that the Bible is God’s very word, inspired of God and therefore authoritative, inerrant (not liable to error) and infallible (incapable of failure/error), the final authority on all matters of faith and practice (Matt 15: 3 – 9. Col 1: 25, 1 These 2: 13; 2 Tim 3: 15 – 17. John 5: 39 – 40. 2 Pet 1: 20 – 21).
3.3. 12 We believe and affirm that we are an evangelical denomination following the tradition of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), but directly under the lordship of Jesus Christ the only head of His universal Church – His body (Eph 1: 19 – 23; 4: 7 – 16).
3.3.13 We believe an affirm that Jesus is the true Head of the Church. As a denomination we are both a living body of believers and an organisation, which in named the south Sea Evangelical Church of which the Reverend Bishop is its human leader.
3.3.14 We believe and affirm only the practice of believer’s baptism by immersion as a denomination of the person’s experience of spiritual re – birth and identity with Christ. (Matt 28: 18 -20. Rom 6: 3 -4, Col 2: 12. 1 Pet 3: 21).
3.3.15 We believe and affirm that church discipline is proper. And that a church without discipline is like a body without muscles. Has lost testimony, purity, and power. (Matt 18. 1 Cor 5. 2 Cor 2. Heb 12).
3.3.16 We believe and affirm that marriage is for one man for one woman until death separates them. We do not endorse divorce and remarriage of either partner for any given reason. ( Gen 2: 24. Eph 5: 31. Matt 19: 5 - 6).
3.3.17 Because of (3.3.16) above, we do not allow those who are divorce and remarried to serve or actively take part in church services or do ministry in the South Sea Evangelical Church at large but are encourage such believers to join in church services.
3.3.19 We believe and affirm the Pre – Millennial view of the church eschatology.
3.3.20 Because of (3.3.19) above we believe that the rapture of the church and the second coming are two separate parts of the Parousia, as well as the pre – tribulation rapture view. ( Jn 14: 1 – 3. 1 These 1: 10; 4 13 – 18; 5: 9 -10. Rev 3: 10).
3.3.18 We believe and affirm that the church and Israel are two distinct groups with distinct roles to play. We do not subscribe to Replacement Theology (Gen 12: 15. 2 Sam7. Ezk 36. Mal 3: 1 – 4. Zech 14: 1 – 21. Rev 20: 1 – 6).
