The cafeteria will most likely be providing snacks three times a week. You may provide snacks for your own child.
Please send in snacks that don’t have sugar or will be messy. Fruit, crackers, pretzels, veggies, etc. are excellent choices.
I will assign you a day on or near your child’s birthday for snack. Please no cake or full size cupcakes! But since it is a special occasion, cookies, mini cupcakes or individual ice creams would be ok.
Standards
Standards are one way to measure student success. You will be given a copy of the 3rd grade standards. Students are expected to know these standards before moving on to 4th grade.
Students will be assessed on these standards throughout the year. Their progress will be reported to you on their report card.
Normas

You can also send cash in an envelope or write a check to “Scholastic Book Clubs”.
Our class gets class points to buy books for our classroom library for every dollar spent!
Be Successful in Math:
Start memorizing multiplication facts!
By the end of third grade, students need to have multiplication facts memorized. Start with the easy ones…x0, x1, x2, x5, x10s. I’ll send home tips as we go beyond that.
***There will be a special reward for students who know their facts by December!

Students need to read at least 20 minutes at home each night! Nightly reading will be tracked through Accelerated Reader (AR). Students will take a computer test on the books that they’ve read.

*Some of these trips cost more than others, but we spread out the cost among all of the field trips to keep it simple. �� ��
We may be able to reduce costs if we do some fundraising. You can send in recycling (anything “CRV”).
We may will be doing a dollar fundraiser. This will raise $25 for each student who participates.
COVID protocols may affect some of our usual field trips.
Fingerprinting
Please come see me if you’d like to go with us! If you would like to go with us on field trips, new district policy states that you must have a TB test, social security number and be fingerprinted. More information is available in the office.

ELAC is program for parents of English Learners.
