Project Nambi

A tribute, a solution.

2 of 27

Why this team and how to solve a problem?

3 of 27

Why?

How?

Two Important questions to begin with.

4 of 27

Meet Sumedh,

  • One of the few selected students from India on a mission to colonize mars.
  • Loves space travel and ice cream.
  • On a mission to find how humans tend to work on a different planet in a closed space
  • A trained mission specialist, biologist and a psychologist.
  • Happiest man to be alive.

5 of 27

Meet Sumedh,

When crew attempting a safe landing, they are being hit by a sudden sand storm,

However, crew and sumedh survived the harsh landing,

they are facing a severe mental breakdown. Even though they are trained for events like this.

6 of 27

  1. Sumedh is not an trained astronaut,
  2. He is one of the selected students from the students programme.
  3. Still a human who loves to eat chill cold ice creams after an accident.
  4. Survived life ending accident.

To Remember,

7 of 27

After reaching the bunker,

Sumedh breaks down to tears, as the landing was rough on him.

But holds on and communicates with the ground support and updates them on the fatality of the crash landing.

All life sustaining systems, comms are nominal,

Humans; Alive,

Tools; some broken and most of them was lost.

Rover; Severe damage on wheels.

A fatal incident left Sumedh and the crew feel weak and anxious and depressed

Then, one of his colleague from India, while talking to sumedh about the crash ad the trauma he is been going through,

Suggested an groundbreaking innovation that he has been working on lately.

PROJECT NAMBI

11 of 27

  • A easy to build device / tool which does not use complex materials.
  • Cloud based OS that helps and monitors the astronauts remotely as well as in house.

12 of 27

WHY?

How?

To help astronauts overcome from withdrawal, isolation, depression and much more.

By BUILDING a device / tool that monitors, guides, interacts with astronauts on the mars planet and makes them feel “HOME LIKE

We understood that there was a major problem that has to be solved nevertheless.

13 of 27

Why?

We took the liberty to find a solution for earth sickness, which is by the way will be a common problem for civilians who travel deep space for the first time.

But we also found a problem that can be solved by combining two technologies together.

14 of 27

  1. 3D printing a Device / tool that helps astronauts to overcome earth sickness
  2. Developing an app that monitors astronauts morale and keeps them updated

PROPOSAL:

15 of 27

Problems:

  1. Figure a way to build a tool that lets astronauts feel ‘Home Like’.
  2. Find a way to 3D print a simple, with no complex materials used.
  3. Create an web tool or an Operating system to power the tool remotely.
  4. And help guide the astronauts to maintain well balanced emotions.

16 of 27

Basing our research on the accidents that have been fatal,

(on planet earth)

Have you ever been on an accident that still makes you feel bad when you think about it?

You probably wouldn't have heard any astronauts taking their life due to depression, isolation, or have you?

17 of 27

THE IDEA -

  • By 3D printing a tool / device that looks and feels like “Home”
  • Connecting this 3D printed device with an cloud based Operating System
  • Which tracks, monitors, helps, guides the astronauts to a well balanced state of emotions.

18 of 27

The Tool

  1. The tool is something that is still on R&D phase.
  2. Did research on the materials available on mars to build the tool.
  3. Selected the plastic and metal 3D printers from the available 3D printers, and will be using some of the resources from damaged tools.

19 of 27

Requirements:

20 of 27

For the tool / device,

  1. Silicone based material
  2. A chip to process and collect data from cloud
  3. LED monitor, a speaker and a mic.

For the Cloud based OS

  1. Operating System that deals with
  2. AI/ML
  3. Algorithms that deals with emotion identification
  4. A ton load of music (obvi)
  5. Neural network.
  6. Talk and speech assistant

Yes,

Cloud based OS is still on developing stage but that's also a challenge we will be looking for to solve.

Using a Virtual OS, Which is completely based on cloud to run on a device that is physical.

21 of 27

Why we chose to narrate with a story instead of showing the real product?

22 of 27

Yes, We don’t have the product, yet!

But hey we have a solution! YEUP we are Indian’s and we have a solution for everything…

23 of 27

As sumedh faced an unexpected incident, we too faced one.

Our teammates did not respond the minute the challenge begun,

I was lost and didn’t know where to start.

Was thinking of dropping the whole challenge, even though with an amazing problem to solve.

But I just didn’t wanna give up on myself, so I came up with the idea to present this useful, amazing, idea as a presentation all alone.

24 of 27

But…

We will be coming strong next year with a physical product with an amazing OS that has the capacity to talk to the user and interact with them for more possible good outcomes.

With a way to integrate with the 3D printed tool.

Making it one of the cutest, yet powerful machines to be developed on earth and to be built on the red planet.

We want this 3D printed tool to be in any shape the astronaut finds it to be, making it to work specifically for each of them.

TO,

All the space hackers and beloved teammates,

Thanks for making this and unforgettable experience,

We look forward to hack on upcoming competitions.

As neil armstrong said,

One small step for man, a giant leap for mankind,

I would like to add one for mars,

“Make Elon Musk the father of Mars”
