LIFE IN JESUS
1 John 5:9-12
1 John 5
9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. 10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son.
1 John 5
11 And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1 John 5
12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
God gave us eternal Life
Life is in his Son (Jesus)
Life
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Jesus brings life, zōḗ more abundant
Would I say that my life is abundant, more excellent, fuller, richer, more complete, joyful, has a weight and importance to it?
Idea of it being more, more.
If it is not,
then why is it not?
Did I mess it up? Does God not really do that?
Isn’t making a life up to me? Is God upset with me?
Is this Life being stolen from me by someone of something else?
Am I not in Jesus? What does that even mean?
Am I just being a whinner or complainer being ungrateful for the life I have?
The purpose of our life
God says, “Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them” (Isaiah 43:7, NLT).
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it” (Matthew 16:24–25).
“Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
Life is in Jesus
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”
Come Follow me
“My yoke”
