The school day begins at 8:00. Students may be dropped off at 7:30. All students will enter the building and go to their classroom. Children will be dismissed beginning at 2:55 from their classroom. Any children not picked up by 3:25 will be taken to after school care. After school care is offered daily from 3:30-5:30. After school care is located in the cafeteria. The cost is $9.00 per day.
Absences of 3 days or less do NOT require principal approval. An absence of 4 or more days requires a minimum of a 3-day written notice to the principal prior to the absence. Failure to obtain this designated prior approval WILL result in the absence being unexcused.
Your child will participate in the following Specialty / Explorer classes each week: Spanish, Art, Music, Computer, Library,
and Physical Education. Check your teacher’s webpage for the schedule. (Students must wear tennis shoes for PE)
Each teacher has a class webpage. This is an important line of communication. You will find the Daily Schedule, Photo Gallery, Parent Letter, and links to Raz-kids and IXL. You will also find a copy of the weekly Skills Sheet. Please check this page at least once per week.
“Spirit Day” is Friday of each week. Students can wear blue jeans and a JCS t shirt/sweatshirt purchased from JCS. A jacket of any color may be worn to school, but must remain in the cubby while in the building or classroom during the day. If they need to wear a jacket during the day, it must be a JCS approved jacket. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel. Socks are required. Socks must be solid white, khaki, blue, or black. Tights need to be solid white or black.

You may send cupcakes or cookies to celebrate your child’s birthday. These will be eaten during lunch. Party invitations must be available for every student in the classroom. The exception to this would be in the case of needing to give out invitations to one gender only.

RAZ-kids reading assignments will be due each Friday morning. You will have a week to complete this assignment.
Any many needed through field trips or other things will be billed to you through your Renweb FACTS account.
If your child will be going home with someone other than the people on their pick-up list, please provide the teacher with a note stating who the child will be riding with.

Your child will be given number grades. You can access your child’s grades through Renweb at anytime. The scale is as follows: A=93-100 B=85-92 C=75-84 D=70-74 F=0-69 Jackson Christian uses the total points earned from the total points possible to calculate grades. Each day, their daily work will come home. They may keep this at home. On Mondays, a yellow envelope with graded work will come home. Please sign, return, and you may keep papers.
Please be sure your child has headphones for their Chromebook, 5 packs of Treasure Box toys, a water bottle, and their Beginner’s Bible for class. There is a $100.00 supply fee to cover the rest of the supplies your child will need for the year. You will be billed for this through your FACTS account.
