IEP/504 & DC Classes:

  • What are the requirements for students who have an IEP/504 with the colleges for dual credit courses?
    • Students need to submit their plan to the disability office at the college in which they are enrolled.
    • The college will determine which accommodations they will allow for the college credit.
  • The HS grade for the DC course will still be accommodated based on the IEP/504 plan.

  • Qualifications to take Dual Credit Courses
    • Students must be 16 years or older or have completed ½ of their graduation requirements (must have completed at least 20 credit hours).
    • GPA Requirements for Course Registration:
      • 9th: Students must have a 3.75(2nd) or 3.5(3rd) GPA and have earned 1/2 of their HS Graduation Requirements
      • 10th: Students must have a 3.0 GPA and have earned 1/2 of their HS Graduation Requirements
      • 11th & 12th: Student GPA requirements set by each college (Most are a 2.7 GPA).
