Grading/FOCUS

Accelerated Reader

  • Enrichment program (in kindergarten)
  • Begins in the 3rd/4th quarter
  • Independent Readers read books and take comprehension quizzes on their own to earn points

  • If you are unable to make it, please tell me as soon as possible so I can try to find a replacement

Communication/Conferences

  • Communication is KEY and it is one of my top priorities.
  • Phone calls, email, calendar, conferences etc.
  • Parents can request conferences at any point in the year. (Times: 7:45, 2:05, 2:25, 3:30)
  • Student-led conferences*
  • Any question, comments, or concerns - do not hesitate to contact me (email will get the quickest response because I’m teaching during the day)

Parent Involvement

  • Many opportunities given in the classroom and throughout the school
  • Class Parties (each parent was assigned a party to plan an activity/craft for & attend)
  • In the classroom: Learning centers (10:05-11:05)
  • In-school opportunities can also include organizing, cutting, sorting etc.
  • Fathers & Father Figures: LOOK OUT FOR OUR WATCH DOGS PROGRAM!
