A: Adaptations

Pandas have many adaptations. One adaptation is they are great climbers. They have 6 big claws for climbing sky high into the gigantic trees. Pandas also have very sharp teeth for crunching hard bamboo. Pandas have big paws that help them swim very well.

B: Birth

Mother pandas give birth to light babies. The babies weigh about 5 ozs. Panda mothers have about 1 to 2 babies a year. 95-160 days of being pregnant the mothers will give birth.

C: Color

Red Pandas are orangish reddish. Giant Pandas are black and white. Giant pandas have very thick fur.

D: Danger

Pandas have few predators. Jackals like to eat the cubs. Snow leopards and martens also like to eat the cubs.

Pandas are endangered. People are cutting down trees that pandas climb on that pandas need to survive.

Giant pandas mostly eat bamboo but sometimes they eat grass. Giant pandas do not need to drink water because the bamboo gives them water. Giant pandas spend about 12 hours a day eating. They eat very fast.

Giant pandas and red pandas live in the forests of China. They also live in the mountains of China. They live alone.

Pandas live for about 20 years in the wild. Pandas will live for 30 years in a protected place.

Red and Giant pandas are mammals. They give birth though their body. They don’t lay eggs.

Pandas eat and sleep for about 12 hours a day. Pandas live with their parents until they are about 1 to 2 years old.

Pandas do not roar like other bears. Pandas Scientific Name is Ailuropoda Melanoleuca.

Red pandas eat acorns and roots. They live in China and Nepal. They are about the size of a cat.

There are 2 species of pandas. ( the Giant Panda and the Red Panda.) They do not look alike.

3 month old pandas weigh about 13 pounds. 1 year old pandas weigh about 80 pounds.
