Light Presentation
What is light?
Electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye.
Light is a form of energy that comes from the sun. (Radiant energy)

How Does Light Travel?
Light waves are also called transverse waves.
Light travels in straight lines until it makes contact with a substance.
How do we see the colors of objects?
Light reflects from an object and enters your pupil.
White Light
White light contains 7 different colors that are broken down when it travels through a medium.
How do we see black and white colors?
Objects that absorb all colors will look black.
Objects that reflect all colors will look white.
What are the ways that light can be changed?
Absorption
Occurs when electromagnetic radiation (waves) are captured and stored inside objects.
Reflection
When light rays make contact with an object and are re-emitted (reflected) as light.
Refraction
When light that travels through a medium bends changing its direction.
Scattering
After traveling through a medium, light is redirected and spreads out in various directions.
