• The present poem is taken from his play As You Like It. Poet compares life to a stage and has divided life into seven stages each having its own varied qualities and features. Poet tells us how life is through this seven stages

Seven Stages of Human Being

• 1^st infant – Mewling, pucking.
• 2^nd Schoolboy – Whining, unwilling to school
• 3^rd – Lover- angry, poet,
• 4^th – Soldier- Strange oaths, bearded, angry ,

jealous in honor.

• 5^th – Justice – Round belly, formal beard, wise,

modern

• 6^th – Old- lean, spectacles on nose, pouch,

whistles, sounds,

• 7^th - Second Childish- Without teeth, without eyes, without

taste, without everything.
