IFRC Constitution Revisions

Board established the Constitution Revision Advisory Group (CRAG), to advise on revisions to the statutory text of the IFRC

​

Objectives

• (1) Review the IFRC’s Constitution, Rules of Procedures, Financial Regulations, Staff Rules and Rules of Travel Assistance (“Statutory Texts) in particular, but not limited to, six areas1 identified by the Governing Board;
• (2) Submit recommendations to the Governing Board on improving and strengthening governance processes;
• (3) Submit any proposed amendments to the Statutory Texts to the Governing Board in time for submission to the 24th Session of the General Assembly in 2024.

• IFRC General Assembly, Council of Delegates and 34^th International Conference

26-31^st October 2024

• Election of IFRC Board committees at General Assembly – Youth, Compliance and Mediation, Finance, Audit and Risk, Election Committee – opportunity to consider candidates (particularly women candidates). Criteria in Rules of Procedure
• Election of Standing Commission at International Conference
• Concept notes sent out - Webinar for NSs on CoD/34th IC, on the 10th of October

IFRC extra-ordinary General Assembly

IFRC extra-ordinary Assembly on 11^th December 2023

• 1 agenda item – election of the IFRC President (applications close on 12^th October)
• Societies are invited to send 2 people only – virtual participation is possible
• Travel assistance provided to those eligible under the Travel Assistance Policy

• 11th December: 9-11 Extraordinary Meeting of the IFRC Governing board (only for Board Members)
• 11th December: 11.00-11.30 Orientation session on voting procedures (5pm BKK time)
• 11th December : 11.30-12.30 Presentation of candidates (the duration of this session will be confirmed based on the final number of candidates)
• 11th December: 12.30-15.00 Lunch break
• 11th December: 15.00 Opening of the General Assembly (9pm BKK time)
• 11th December: at the end of the EGA session cocktail reception
