Bani’s professional career has been in Human Resources across many industries ranging from Banking to Manufacturing to the Knowledge Industry spanning over 20 years, with her education qualifications being Bachelors in Business Administration & Computing Science from Western New England College in Mass, USA . Bani received her executive education from South-East Asian Leadership Academy (SIBF: USA) in 2016.
The last 5 years have been in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with 3 years focusing and leading Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing at LSEG Sri Lanka. Bani is also the President of Diversity Collective Lanka (DCLK); a not for profit entity driving change in this space.
Her training experience and expertise has been mostly through her role as Human Resources Manager and HR Lead in many companies including ANZ Grindlays Bank, MAS Holdings, MAS Linea Aqua, Stax Inc and LSEG SL. She was also certified by IFC for Respectful Workplaces in 2022. She has also been certified as a SouthEast Asian Leadership Academy facilitator in 2018.
She is an independent consultant in HR strategy, especially in culture building and learning and development, after retiring from the corporate world. She was the Lead for the Capacity Forum which was a volunteer position building talent capacity for the IT industry through SLASSCOM.
