Monitor your student’s Aeries portal for grades, attendance, and missing assignments.

Tutoring

Encourage your student to attend tutoring.

BEFORE SCHOOL: M, T, TH, F (7:30-8:20AM) W (8:30- 9:20 AM)

AFTER SCHOOL: M, T, W, TH (3:30-4:30 PM)

**Tutoring may be available with individual teachers. Your student should ask their teachers.

Google Classrooms

Ask your student to log on to their Google Classrooms and click “View Your Work” to see what is “Turned In” or “Missing.”

Communicate with the Teachers

Best way to communicate with the teachers is through email or ParentSquare.

Both you and your student should check your email regularly, as teachers and counselors use this for communication.

Create A Homework Routine

  • Have your student write down homework and upcoming tests/quizzes/ projects in their Student Planner.

  • Create a quiet space for your student to do their homework.

  • The LawEd Code 48200: Compulsory Education: All students between the ages of 6 and 18 must attend school daily and on time.�
  • School only gets harder when you stay home too much.�
  • Missing 10% of school, or about 15 days, negatively affects your grades.

That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absenteeism.
