Transition Meeting

  • At your child’s IEP meeting, the IEP team will meet and discuss:
    • your child’s current progress
    • how they are doing with their current IEP goals
    • future goals for the next school year
    • related services

  • 6th grade transition meetings can be combined with a regularly scheduled IEP meeting
  • Placement options in regards to the specific classes,
    • based on your child’s specific needs (academically and functionally)

Encore? What’s that?

  • Encore classes in the middle school are the same as specials classes in elementary school
  • Your child will have more options for Encore classes in 6th grade!
    • Art, Music, Drama, STEM, Spanish, FACS
  • New in 2024-25 School Year…..Hexster Rotations
    • 6th grade students experience ALL the Encore classes!
    • Encore classes are every 6 weeks
      • instead of every 9 weeks in 7th/8th grade
  • 7th/8th grade - You get to chose 4 Encore classes
