Here’s what we are working on!
Letterland
Unit 1: Closed and Open syllables: e, o
This week students will learn about open and closed syllables.
Examples of this week’s words:
help he sock so
When practicing Letterland with your child, please focus on practicing the skill, not memorizing the words. All words on each list will follow the weekly pattern. Have your student read and re-read his/her spelling list for fluency.
Foundations of Writing
We will review and practice foundational writing skills such as letter formation, writing fluency, and conventions (punctuation, capitalization, etc).
Math
We will finish learning about odd/even numbers and begin to work on different strategies to add and subtract within 20.
Social Studies
Students will understand how values and beliefs shape culture in America.
