2026 Tee Ball Rules

Ages 4-5

Development of baseball fundamentals.

    • Throw and catch foundation
    • Run the bases in correct direction
    • Field with Alligator Scoop
    • Improve batting mechanics

At Practice:

  • Suggested drills.

  • Coaches will follow a general outline to ensure consistency of learning across the league, but will be given flexibility to modify drills to focus on their team’s needs.

Game Day

On Game Day: Batting

  • Each player gets to bat each inning. The whole team bats through the order. No balls, no strikes.
  • Each runner moves along 1 base per batter. If thrown out at a base, the runner stays and the next batter is up.
  • The last batter gets to clear the bases for the team.
  • No score is kept.
  • No leading, stealing, advancing on over-throws, or sliding.

Game Day

On Game Day: Fielding

  • One player at a time fields the ball and makes a throw to first base
  • No outs recorded in the field
  • Waiting to field is best positioned on the pitchers mound.

General Rules

  • No batters “on deck” at any time. This is a safety rule, as kids this age are not always (or even often) paying attention to the live ball or where they’re swinging the bat.
  • Coaches will strive for three/four innings per game, but may be called early due to time.
  • Coaches decision on rain, if thunder or lighting, event is off for 10 min. If thunder and lightning continue, the event is called off.

    • Pants (no shorts)

League Provides

    • Uniform (shirt and hat)
    • Bats
    • Balls
    • Helmets

Field Lockboxes

  1. Use key security box code 9283
  2. Use key to open both locks and replace key
  3. Keep lock box closed during practice
  4. Lock padlocks once all equipment has been replaced inside.

Coaching Tips

Coaching this age can be fun, but sometimes frustrating. Please remember the following:

  • #1 goal ….Kids having fun
    • If they enjoy it they will want to participate
    • Be engaging, energetic, show your enthusiasm
  • Communicate
    • With the kids
    • With the parents
    • With me. I’m here for you
  • Be Consistent
    • Stick to strikes and outs so the

kids learn the game
