Goals:
Act 1: Search
Moment 1: Professor James prepares for his 30 person project course that he teaches in the fall
Moment 2: Professor James contacts a previous project partner and is referred to Matchmaker
Moment 3: Checks out the Matchmaker Website
Moment 4: Is interested in learning how Matchmaker has helped connect others
Act 2 : Match
Moment 5: Convinced to use the platform; Matchmaker guides Professor James through class detail input
Moment 6: Matchmaker confirms that the class is submitted
Moment 7: Matchmaker suggests a set of projects based on the information Professor James entered. He looks at the project matches in depth and marks his favorites.
Moment 8: The client also marks Professor James’ class as a favorite. Now that there is mutual interest, Professor James is prompted to use an auto generated email template to contact the client to set up a negotiations meeting.
Moment 9: After the email exchange, Professor James and the client negotiate expectations and goals in person
Moment 10: Professor James receives a follow-up email from Matchmaker checking if he and the client agreed to work together; they both confirm that they plan to work together.
Moment 11: Matchmaker sends a working contract with a summary of their mutual project preferences and expectations of working together
Moment 12: On his calendar, Professor James accepts the invitation for a date and time to meet with the client to introduce the project brief to the class
Act 3 : Engage
Moment 13: Professor runs his class with the industry project; adjusts curricula as needed
Moment 14: Meets weekly with student teams to advise them, gauges any issues with the client
Moment 15: Gives his students a form to provide feedback in the beginning, halfway through, and at the end of the quarter about working with the client
Moment 16: At the end of the course, Professor James grades student work and evaluates his experience working with industry by filling out a feedback form.
Moment 17: Continues to use Matchmaker to find a project for his next quarter class!
