Graphic Design
Unlock your child’s creative potential
We will teach the principles of graphic design and the practical skills and tools to create effective graphics and manage viewers’ attention.
We teach from scratch
Create real products
Use professional tools
The children do not have to have experience art school, their ideas and enthusiasm for creating will be enough.
The children will immediately apply their new skills in practice by creating their own projects.
The children will master the most popular free professional graphic design software, meaning they will be able to continue designing at home.
For those who want to turn imagination into digital reality
Professional graphic designers are in demand around the world and our course is the ideal first step if the child is exploring this direction. .
By teaching a deeper understanding of visual materials and skills to convey meaning and manage attention the course is much more than professional preparation and opens endless possibilities.
Design has potential
Age
Age:
Children with zero knowledge and skills.
Course Advantages
Design — is control over attention.
For 9-11 years, managing attention means being able to add more meaning to
your illustrations and animation (which hero is “bad” and which is “good”?),
add secrets and easter eggs. Understand how the “game of meaning” works in
design.
Plot: a journey through different worlds (magical, space,
modern)
For 12-14, managing attention besides “playing” means stimulating
the desired user’s behavior on the developer's resource.
Plot: Science and Design, no plot characters
Why Graphic Design?
Experts: “Why does a parent bring a child to design courses and not to an art school? The child draws well in the margins, he seems interested, let's try - maybe something will come of it. "
Experts: “children come to design or offering design, mostly introverts who need some kind of self-realization”

-Development of imagination, non-standard approaches to problem solving
2 block Collage
Working in the raster program GIMP
What does the child get?
Collage helps you do very interesting work without the need for drawing skills. On such tasks, taste, courage, and imagination are perfectly developed.
|
3 block. Retouching in raster graphics.
What is being worked out:
-working with retouching: the use of tools for correcting texture, color, shape. It is required to use many different tools at once.
-working with composition, color
-working with layers
Retouching in raster graphics.
Retouching in raster graphics.
Outcomes : the student in this task works out the maximum number of tools: collage, stamps, brushes, color correction, work with polygons and curves, filters, shape transformation, etc.
The skill is most useful, you can process your photos, and edit something as you wish anywhere. You can even take part-time jobs right away :)
The task is suitable for all ages. Duration: from 2 lessons

Pluses / Minuses : Good skill assignment, but not very creative initially. You can complicate and do, for example, fantasy illustrations, but already combining the skills of collage, retouching and free drawing from other lessons.
It's pretty straightforward at a basic level, but it takes a lot of time to get anywhere.
4 block - 3 D graphics
What is working out:
- Spatial thinking, construction
- Rhythm, compositional balance
- Principles of working in 3D
- Development of imagination, solving constructive problems
4 BLOCK - 3D graphics
Work in programs: Tinkercad
What does the child get?
Working with 3D combines elements of construction and creativity. Works with spatial and constructive thinking.
Here you can also work with composition and color, rhythm, balance.
|
3D graphics
More complex and longer development
(from 10 lessons)
3D graphics
Outcomes : the project can be selected according to the level of the student (the number of objects and complexity, whether there is an environment) The younger ones can work with standard objects, the older ones themselves design more complex objects.
Children most often understand the motivation to understand and learn to work in 3D,
work for a long time to achieve the first effective results.
The first results (as in the project above) can be achieved in 2-3 lessons.
This program is also suitable for younger children.
5 block — Layout
Work in programs: Scribus
What does the child get?
A skill to post large amounts of information beautifully and easily. You can transfer experience to the construction of sites. You can work with infographics.
Layout teaches how to work with composition, color perception, working with fonts.
More suitable for persevering children who like to structure information, draw, analyze.
Creating a layout
What we are working on:
-Principles of layout, book composition
-Working with color, composition
-Working with fonts
-Working with text, proofreading, isolating the main
-Skill of searching and analyzing information
Layout
Outcome : layout is a painstaking and rather mechanical process, but very rewarding.
The child can quickly get tired and burn out. But at the same time, the result is easily and beautifully expressed in the material: you can print a large wall newspaper, book, brochure, magazine. An affordable way for a child to tell others about his hobbies.
For adult children only.
Work for 2-3 lessons, more is possible, but most children will be bored. For the lesson you will need text and pictures (clipart) for it, in png, jpeg format
6th block - Vector graphics
Work in InkScape program
What does a child learn?
Vector graphics allow you to draw whatever you want, while allowing you to continually refine your shapes. change the size, properties of the displayed object
|
The basics: creating a logo and business card
- Familiarity with the interface.
- Understanding curves and how they work
Vector graphics
Outcomes: you can set completely different levels of difficulty.
Change the entourage of the task: comic, illustration, location. icons, logos, etc.
At the same time, give artistic knowledge: how to draw a person and a face, light shadows and proportions, linear perspective, etc.
For a slightly more advanced level, you can do typography work (anatomy of a letter and font, type compositions)
Suitable for all ages. Due to the variety of forms of work, an approach can be found for all types of students.
A good result from 3 sessions, while the work is quite varied, does not get boring.
7 block - Infographics
What is working out -
- Analysis of the vector program interface, its functionality and application
-Curves tool
-Composition
-Coloristics, selection of colors
-Concept of infographics in design
Examples: infographics about a fantasy universe, a book. Typification or grouping of some objects, the creation of an illustrated recipe or instructions.
8 block - Identity
What is working out:
-What is identity, the work of a graphic designer
-What makes up the work on the corporate identity, the development of your project
-Working with curves, shapes, the path from idea to implementation
-Working with color, composition, viewer perception
8 block - Identity
Work in vector programs: InkScape, Gravit Designer.
Quite a serious project, yet suitable for any age.
Identity in this case can include a certain minimum (logo and font), or infinitely many elements. You can delve into serious topics and do branding, you can do something more fun such as branded stickers, toys, stickers etc.
|
Identity
Outcomes : an excellent assignment that can even be attributed to career guidance for a graphic designer.
It is possible to complicate and facilitate the forms of work. Drawing skills will be a big plus, but you can do without it.
The task can be done 2-4 lessons, as a result, the identity can be printed on some real thing: on a mug, business card, label, etc.
Suitable for all ages.
To carry out the task, you may need mock-up pictures and a bitmap editor.
9 block Character Design
What is being worked out -
- the basics of drawing a person: poses, proportions
-the basics of drawing a head: proportions, facial expressions
-working with curves, shapes, gradients, chiaroscuro
9 block - Character Design
The task answers one of the main pains of students - drawing a person.
In this task, children learn step by step to “put” the character in different convincing poses, to give emotions and mood through simple facial expressions.
The task can be modified in various ways: link it with drawing a sticker pack, with animation, comics, collage ...
|
Different stages of the task completion
Character’s design
Outcomes : knowledge is very much in demand by children, there is quite a lot of interesting theory about proportions, body position, facial expressions, etc.
Children will most likely need to practice on paper.
In general, drawing a person and a face is the most difficult thing in drawing.
The task is suitable for any age.
The task can be carried out both in vector and in raster programs, depending on the concept and timing.
10 block - 2D animation
Program: Wick
Creation of small animated pictures from scratch. Starting with the simplest primitives, gradually increasing the complexity and moving on to more complex objects.
In addition to the animation itself, as needed, the task can be complicated with artistic techniques.
It should be very interesting for children, not very difficult technically. The task can be greatly simplified for the little ones and the difficulty can be seriously increased for the older ones.
2D animation.
Examples from simple to complex.
10 block - 2D animation
Outcomes : a good task for training both technical and artistic skills, easily adjustable in complexity, suitable for any age.
You can make animated stickers and upload to telegrams, but post-processing is needed.
A clear skill and result for any child, you can work with the mouse at the initial stages.
Duration: 3-4 lessons.
