2013
Inefficient use of space and facilities (six buildings)
Questioning the potential loss of educational programming
Poor technology infrastructure and resources
Fragmented district educational programs and school climate
Financial instability
Today
We have four buildings vs. six.
We have maintained and improved our instructional programs.
We have strong technology infrastructure and are now 1:1.
We speak as a district and as one voice.
We have achieved financial stability and have strong fund equity.
Early calendar startIn Ingham County, eight of the twelve districts start school at least one week earlier than us. We are currently working towards developing a school calendar that is similar in nature to this year, but has us starting the Monday before Labor Day. In this calendar, we would start on Monday August 28th but would be off the Friday and Monday of Labor Day Weekend. We would conclude school for next year tentatively on June 12, 2018 vs. June 16, 2017 for this current school year.
Double bus run
We are continuing our double bus run. Our double bus run is changing its grade configurations from PK-3 and 4-12 to PK-6 and 7-12. Current 4th and 5th grade students will be most affected. Current 4th and 5th grade students currently start school on the first (early) run. Next year these same students will be on the second (late) run (PK-6)
