English Learner Department

https://www-state-gov.translate.goog/hispanic-heritage-month-2023/?_x_tr_sl=en&_x_tr_tl=es&_x_tr_hl=es&_x_tr_pto=rq#:~:text=During%20National%20Hispanic%20Heritage%20Month,to%20our%20culture%20and%20society.

National Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15, alluding to the anniversaries of several Spanish-speaking countries and their quest for independence. This annual celebration of 30 consecutive days ends on October 15. Hispanic Heritage Month is important because it gives us the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions that many Americans with Hispanic roots have made to U.S. society and culture. This month is an excellent opportunity for your children to learn more about their origins by finding information at the library or online about their roots and culture.

To learn more about this celebration, visit the U.S. Department of State website.
