��Key Features of Nutri Garden

Key features

Crop diversity : minimum crop diversity mandated for each agriculture season. 14 varieties for summer and Kharif and 18 varieties grown in Rabi season

Localized planning & implementation: GPLF-based planning & implementation

Addition of fruit trees : 10 varieties of fruit trees ( papaya, drumstick, banana & lemon) are grown to meet additional fruit requirements

Seasonal coverage : nutri gardens promoted in all three seasons; Kharif, Rabi and summer

Different prototypes: Different prototypes developed for both land-based and land less categories. ( 1-2 decimal, MGNREGS model and gunny bag model)

Use of recyclable indigenous seeds & organic inputs : Indigenous seeds of local varieties are promoted & plant-extracts as well as bio pesticides used as fertilizers and for pest management

Minimum quantity production : Average quantity of 1.5-2 kg vegetables per day for 9-10 months per household

Mandatory coverage of malnourished & nutritionally vulnerable : Households having malnourished members and with adolescent girls, pregnant & lactating women, children below 6 years are more prioritized
