Goal for Outcome 9

7

To measure impact – have student outcomes improved for GSPP students vs. Non-GSPP students?

8 of 35

Clarification of Scope and Purpose

8

  • Not a traditional professional development
    • This outcome is focused on data collection and reporting for the GSPP grant. The hope is that these processes can become sustainable practices for other grant reporting, as well.

  • Providing support for coding and setting up pathways/courses

in Student Information System (SIS) is not within the scope of the LTAC, but the LTAC can direct you to resources, if needed.

Flow of Data

9

  • LTAC creates the data collection form
  • RTAC shares the collection form with grantees
  • RTAC will provide training and support for grantees in the region
  • Grantees submit data via the Google Form with support from their RTAC; data is immediately accessible by the LTAC
  • LTAC monitors the progress of data submissions, raises any quality issues with the appropriate RTAC, and alerts the appropriate RTAC if grantees are in danger of missing the submission deadline and/or fail to submit data on time
  • RTAC intervenes to address data quality issues and deadline issues with grantees
  • LTAC submits data report to California Department of Education (CDE)

  • Measure using Fall 1 enrollment
  • Total enrollment for GSPP and non-GSPP students:
    • All students
    • English Learners
    • Foster Youth
    • Students with Disabilities
    • Students eligible for free/reduced-price meals

16 of 35

Tagging GSPP Students

16

  • Option 1: Use a custom field in SIS to "tag" GSPP students, then query SIS for data

OR

  • Option 2: Generate list of GSPP students, pull California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) reports, then match CALPADS data to students on GSPP list

17 of 35

Metric: Academic Performance

17

  1. CAASPP ELA, standard met and exceeded
  2. CAASPP Math, standard met and exceeded
  3. Students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher (on-track)

GSPP and non-GSPP students:

    • All students
    • English Learners
    • Foster Youth
    • Students with Disabilities

Reminder: Tagging GSPP Students

21

  • Option 1: Use a custom field in SIS to "tag" GSPP students, then query SIS for data

OR

  • Option 2: Generate list of GSPP students, pull California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) reports, then match CALPADS data to students on GSPP list

22 of 35

Data Not in SIS

22

  • Often data related to things like pre-apprenticeships and industry certifications are not collected in a site's SIS.
  • Grantees will need to identify who collects this information and where it is recorded in order to report on these metrics.

23 of 35

Metric: CTE Coursework

The following will be collected for GSPP students Only:

  • Number of students who completed a GSPP pathway (2 or more courses in the same subject area, with one being the capstone course)

Postsecondary Enrollment and Employment Transitions

24

  • Data related to postsecondary enrollment and employment cannot be found in SIS
  • Data from the Perkins survey will come too late
    • 2025 graduates will not be surveyed until Jan-March 2026
    • GSPP data is due October 2026
  • National Student Clearinghouse requires a subscription

Metric: Postsecondary Plans

25

The following will be collected for GSPP students Only:

  • Number of students who are planning to enroll in any postsecondary institution in the fall semester immediately following graduation

GSPP Senior Survey

26

  • This is a proxy measure using what is available to us.
  • Grantees do not need to establish post secondary partnerships to collect this data.
  • Data does not need to be added to SIS.
  • Raw survey results do not need to be shared with LTAC.
  • This is a PRE-graduation survey
    • Gathering data from students before they leave our system will yield a better response rate.
  • The LTAC will provide guidance and a draft of questions.
  • Grantees will need to develop a process for administering the survey and communicating the results back to their point person.
  • Link to draft of GSPP Senior Exit Survey

Data Sources

27

Most of this data can be found in the LEA's SIS or CALPADS reports, with the exception of: industry certifications, pre-apprenticeship completion, and postsecondary transitions. We will include suggested data sources for each metric in our data collection instructions and review with you at the next meeting.

Consequences of Not Reporting

28

  • Grantees are expected to submit data as part of their participation in this grant.

  • Noncompliance with required data reporting may result in withholding the second grant payment of 15 percent of the grant award and/or invoicing for the grant funds.
