"ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਖਬਾਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਰਹੇ?”
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ।
“ਕੀ ਦੱਸਾਂ ਪੁੱਤ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਐਨਕ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਓਹਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ,” ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।

"ਤੁਸੀਂ , ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਕਸਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। "
ਗੁੱਲੀ ਜਲਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਛੋਟਾ, ਭੂਰੇ ਰੰਗ ਦਾ ਬਕਸਾ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ।

ਡਮ -ਡਮਾਂ - ਡਮ -ਡਮ । ਇਹ ਕੀ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ ਗੁੱਲੀ ਦੀ ਪਿਟਾਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ? ਇੱਕ ਚਮਕਦਾਰ ਵੱਡਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਸ਼ੀਸ਼ਾ !
ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਉਣਗੀਆਂ ।

"ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਗੁੱਲੀ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਅੱਖਰ ਸਾਫ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ," ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।

“ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੰਗਲ ਚਾਚਾ ਜੀ?” ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ।
“ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪੈਕਟ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਤੇਲ ਬੋਤਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਬੋਤਲ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਛੋਟਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲਗਦੇ ਏਦਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਸੋਈ ਗੰਦੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣੀ ਏ ”ਮੰਗਲ ਚਾਚਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
"ਚਾਚਾ ਜੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਫਿਕਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹੁਣੇ ਗਿਆ ਤੇ ਹੁਣੇ ਆਇਆ ," ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।

ਇਕ ਵੱਡੀ, ਚੌੜੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੀਪ! ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਪਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਬੂੰਦ ਬੂੰਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੇਠੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
“ਆਹ ਲਓ ਮੰਗਲ ਚਾਚਾ ਜੀ, ਇਹ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਰਸੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਾਫ਼ ਰਹੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣਾ ਪਕਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਸੌਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ” ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ।

“ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਗੁੱਲੀ, ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੰਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੌਖਾ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ !”
“ਤੁਸੀ ਕੀ ਲੱਭ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ ਦਾਦੀ ਜੀ ?” ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ।
ਰਾਜੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਦਾ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਗਰਮ ਟੋਪੀ ਠੀਕ ਕਰਦੀ ਸੀ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਸੂਈ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਗਈ " ਦਾਦੀ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ।
“ਤੁਸੀਂ ਏਥੇ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਤੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠੋ ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਬਕਸੇ 'ਚੋਂ ਹੁਣੇ ਕੁੱਝ ਲੱਭ ਕੇ ਲਿਆਇਆ ।” ਗੁੱਲੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ

ਡਮ -ਡਮਾਂ -ਡਮ. ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਗੁੱਲੀ ਕੀ ਕੱਢੇਗਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਟਾਰੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ?
ਚੁੰਬਕ! ਜਿਹਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਚਿਪਕ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜਦੋਂ ਮੇਂ ਇਹਨੂੰ ਫਰਸ਼ ਤੇ ਘੁਮਾਇਆ, ਸੂਈ ਝੱਟ ਹੀ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। " ਗੁੱਲੀ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ।

"ਆਹ ਦੇਖੋ ਦਾਦੀ ਜੀ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸੂਈ ਲੱਭ ਗਈ ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੁੱਝ ਹੋਰ ਗੁਮੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵੀ ਲੱਭ ਗਈਆਂ।"
ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼ ਗੁੱਲੀ! ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਿਆਣੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਭੂਰਾ ਬਕਸਾ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਮਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੈ! ” ਦਾਦੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ
