!

When your opportunities are not written in the right way, you confuse the customer.

EPs might not understand the Job Description of the project.

You could get quality cases for not having proper description of projects.

You can lose IR partners based on this.

GENERAL RULES

Opportunity posting

All opportunities should be written in English, using correct

spelling, grammar and punctuation.

All opportunities must have a start and end date that matches

the actual real start and end date of the project.

Never open an opportunity if the opportunity does not have a

contract signed with an organisation/ partner. This must always

happen before receiving applications.

Never duplicate opportunities on the system. The number of

opportunities should reflect the real number of opportunities

available. With the new algorithm duplicating opportunities will

not increase the chances of your opportunity to be seen by

customers.

THE OPPORTUNITY TITLE

The title of the opportunity is the first thing that the customer sees, it

should be inviting, clear and concise

State the name of the project with or without adding “Project” at the end (Example: Bienestar; GirlBoss Project; Footprints Project)

Never use elements of punctuation such as “[xyz]” in your opportunity titles.

Never add information such as length or salary in the opportunity title, they are already detailed in the opportunity description.

Never add things such as “pre-matched”, “don't apply” in the title of the opportunity, this information should be communicated internally and not displayed in a way that confuses the customer.

THE OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Applying for an opportunity is big commitment for any customer.

All opportunity should be written in English, spelled correctly and using full sentences and correct punctuation.

The “Role description” section should give an overview of the project or job description in 50-100 words.

The deadline of the opportunity should reflect the exact date of the opportunity being closed for applications.

The “Main activities” section should list down minimum 5 activities to be carried out within the role by the volunteer. These should be phrased as actions, and not topics.

A good description can convince them to apply, a bad one will make them question the opportunity and AIESEC as an organisation.

THE OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

DO’s

The description is detailed, the role description is formulated in a few

lines, giving enough detail but not overwhelming the customer. The

main activities are formulated as complete sentences and there are a

number of 5 lines, which is recommended.

THE OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

DON’Ts

The description is not detailed, is short and gives very little information. The activities are not all actual activities. The applicant will be confused by the line saying “Fees $150” (think of it from the customer’s perspective, there is no context to what that means). Remember applying to a project is a considerable commitment, which needs the correct and detailed information to be made.

THE OPPORTUNITY PREREQUISITES

The prerequisites represent all those criteria that an applicant should match in order for them to be qualified for the opportunity.

Only select required (will be shown with a “*”) if the specific prerequisite is absolutely required - if an applicant does not have a required prerequisite they won’t be able to apply for the opportunity.Ensure that the selection process is clear and follows a step-by-step.

Opening a Global Project follows the same process as opening any other opportunity, the only difference is that you must use a template when editing the details of the project.

You can also check this video tutorial.

After you filled the necessary information, go to edit.

After choosing an SDG you must choose a target, choose the one that shows *(Global project available)* to use the Global project template.

Global

Volunteer

Academy

How to fill this?

Example: If you have a Project that will deliver 10 trainings by 2 EPs, then each EP is going to deliver 5. On the blanket spot you should always put the EPs contribution, not the general one.
