• The strawberry or cherry on top is the TSP funds provided for some of our students with highest needs: English learners, low-income and

foster youth.

Response and Feedback:

• Get student feedback regarding programs like advisory and seminar
• By shortening days, PD time gets cut approximately in half and would need to hold faculty meetings
• Seminar needs to meet certain minute requirements in order to meet G credit and some ELD courses are given during that block
• Some seminars need to be able to meet a couple times per week (AP seminar, etc)
• What can we do to make things more sustainable when the day feels long?

The SSC received advice from the ELAC and discussed it at the SSC meeting. Below are the responses of the SSC regarding the ELAC advice.

• Agree with considering the impact of the pandemic on attendance goals
• Agree with impact of long term substitute teachers in the classroom (disruption of curriculum and materials)
• Agree that ADA funds should be reconsidered- doesn’t emcpass the struggles and needs for students at our schools
• Need stronger instruction and more consistent teachers in the classroom, consider bilingual classes in the upper school (supports EB learners), many other students not just Spanish speakers and expand supports for other language speakers

• Supplemental federal funds to help meet the educational needs of low-achieving students in high-poverty schools

• LAUSD schools must have a poverty ranking of at least 45% to be Title I

Research and Accountability

Committee Mission (SGC By-laws):

The Research and Accountability Committee is responsible for reviewing annually the school’s progress on indicators of student engagement and achievement; overseeing the Pilot School Quality Review process and report; overseeing the Western Association of Schools and Colleges accreditation process and report; ensuring that development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement, the associated budget for categorical funds, and the overall UCLA-CS budget takes into account student (and school) performance data and theoretical and research-based knowledge of best practices; and advising the research director on matters that she or he brings to the committee. The committee is composed of members of the School Governing Council and, if desired, others selected by the School Governing Council from among those recommended by School Governing Council members. The actual or de facto director of research for UCLA-CS or a member of the School Governing Council chairs the committee.

1. Get the form from the office
2. Fill it out (it can be anonymous)
3. Mail or fax it to LAUSD Educational Equity Compliance Office

1. Contact trusted staff (advisors, counselors, administrators, teachers)
2. Create a plan with the trusted staff specific to the issue (every plan will be different)
3. Take the plan into action and come to an agreement
4. (optional) In case you need extra support, reach out to other staff
