The Examen

The Daily Examen of Consciousness was perhaps Ignatius’ most beloved prayer. There is a natural, beautiful flow to its meditation.

We will use this flow through our time together, couching our agenda in the following key experiences of the Examen:

  • Transition to awareness.
  • Reflections on gratitude.
  • Recognition of our shortcomings.
  • Request for forgiveness.
  • Movement to renewal.

The videos to the right provide insight into the structure, flow and purpose of the Examen.

File Sharing

In order to support the sharing of files that can be useful between our schools during the conference and beyond, we are trying an Artifact Collection.

If you have files to share, please use the associated links to upload the files to Dropbox and to view/download shared documents.

Please use descriptive filenames; e.g. St. Xavier Tech Plan, St. Ignatius 1:1 Planning Guide, Strake Jesuit Family Survey After Year 1, etc.

Who Use What?

On the Town

We have provided plenty of time for you to enjoy this popular, upscale Old Market neighborhood within Omaha.

Wednesday night dinner is on your own, so at the very least you will want to look into one of these restaurants.

All of them are within walking distance of the Embassy Suites.

Beth Ginger lives in Omaha and helped compile this list. She might be able to help you with a suggestion!

Innovation: A Culture and Community of Ideas Put Into Action

Understanding the shifting landscape of academic technologies can be challenging.

The only thing that is certain about the digital future is that institutions will be required to transform quickly and often.

Most organizations fail because of their culture. Take the challenge of continuous transformation and create an advantage by developing an innovation engine that is ready to empower students, faculty and staff to put their ideas into action.

Tech and All That: Ignatian Musings on Gadgets, Geeks and the Educational Vocation

Educators understand from their experience the ambiguity of technology. The same devices that give us instant access to a global network also have the power to manage and even dominate us if we are not vigilant.

The traditions of Jesuit education can help us corral our technological creations and direct their use toward the formation of men and women for others and the creation of a more just world.
