From April 2020 - March 2021:

  • Number of charge points increased by 122%

  • Total number of charging events increased by more than 2,500%

  • Total kWh charged per month - increased by more than 2,800%

  • Average energy drawn per charging event remains stable

Trends: Slow/fast points

  • Average plug in and charge utilisation have increased steadily. Plug in utilisation continues to be almost double charge utilisation.

  • Time and day of plugging in: an even spread of charging activity across the week. 4-7pm is the most popular plug-in time.

  • Plug-in duration - average plug in duration c. 8 hours in total.

  • Charge duration - average charge duration c. 5 hours in total

Trends: Rapid charge points

  • Average utilisation: plug in utilisation decreased significantly in January February.

  • Time and day of plugging in: Wednesday - Friday are the most popular days for charging and plug in’s are fairly consistent between 8am - 8pm

  • Plug-in duration - average charge is less than 50mins
