Making Your Own Decade Rosary

Materials

  • One piece of twine
  • One plastic cross bead
  • 13 rose beads (3 of one color, 10 of another color)
  • scissors

Step 1

Pull twine through the plastic cross bead. Leave about 2-3 inches of twine on the right side – see photo below.

(You will use this to tie your first knot.)

Step 2

Tie double knot (see diagram below for single knot – do it twice) to secure twine above cross. Pull tight.

Step 3

Thread the three beads of the same color one at a time onto the twine. Slide down until above the knot & cross.

Step 4

Repeat double knot from Step 2 to secure twine above your three colored beads. Pull tight.

Step 5

Thread the 10 beads of the same color one at a time onto the twine (above the knot & three colored beads) – see photo below.

Step 6

Grasp the twine at the top of the 10 beads. Pull twine and beads around until a circle is formed. Leave

a little room (less than one bead’s width). Repeat double knot to secure twine above

your previous knot – see photo.

Step 7

Carefully cut excess twine. (Leave a little extra in case there becomes a need to retie at a later time.)

Step 8

Use your new decade Rosary to pray to Mary for your special intentions and for the intentions of those near to you. Remember, as Jesus’ mother, Mary intercedes for us.
