As a researcher I often deploy customer satisfaction surveys in all the physical locations of a clothing store.

One of the most important parts of my job is to analyze the different responses of all the different demographic groups that answer our surveys.

​

To get better insights I often use cross tables report so we can directly see the performance of our services, delight indicators and so on.

​

Recently I’ve been having a hard time to present my findings to my supervisor because the reports I’ve gotten are very redundant and contains the same answers provided by users repeated several times, to solve this problem what do is to download the report from my survey platform and manually edit it in Microsoft excel.

Although I can manage to group the information by myself is time consuming since I have to make the calculation formulas by my own.

Problem

Limited capabilities

Users rely on other softwares to get the job done

Currently it is not possible to decide which answer options will appear in the reports, all are added automatically as a group.

Regularly, researchers need the capability to group similar answer options into a new variable to make easier the data analysis, currently we don’t grant them this capability, forcing them to edit the report manually using spreadsheets editors like excel after downloading reports provided by our platform.

Solution

Select answer options for each question group

Merge answer options into variables

When adding question groups we need the capability of select which answer options we’re adding.

Once all needed answers have been selected inside of question groups, users should be capable of merging the ones that are considered similar and turn them into variables, having the capability of manage them. (Edit, reset, ungroup)

Mission Statement

• Users need to be able to select which answer options we’re getting in the report and delete the ones we no longer want in the report.

• Grouping similar answer options is vital for this reports

• Having the capability of edit, erase, reset and manage in general grouped answers should be available

Ideally the UI of this entire section shouldn’t change that much, so the feature will be easily implemented and released.

The drawer for report edition is already too busy and has short space to manage everything.
