Why Dual Language? 왜 이원언어를 할까요?

Students who participate in the Dual Language program receive instructions in two languages. Thus, they become multilingual, multiliterate and develop cultural competency to succeed, attain greater academic success when they participate in this program (Thomas and Collier, 2009).

이원언어 프로그램에 참여하는 학생들은 두 언어로 교육을 받습니다. 그래서 이중 언어, 이중 문해력 및 이중 문화를 이해하는 능력을 갖을수 있게 됩니다.

Both English Language Learners and English proficient students are mixed in the same classroom to promote bilingualism, biliteracy and multiculturalism.
No mixing of languages—language of instruction is separated.
Language enriched learning environment: We provide various bilingual functional prints in the room. For example, we have two libraries: one with all English literature and one with all Korean literature.
All students are held to the same high academic standards in both languages from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Parental participation: home-school collaboration.
