During these meetings, leadership teams will work with their RISE support teams to reflect on the past year, including outcome data and RISE by 5 strategies, and to establish priorities for 2020-21.
Cross-School Collaboration: Reflections on Distance Learning

Principals will reflect on their school’s strengths and areas for growth during the distance learning period, sharing promising practices to support improvements in 2020-21.
Grading for Equity
Tuesday, June 30 | 11 AM - 1 PM
Author and education leader Joe Feldman will lead a session about grading as a lever for equity, engagement, and learning; leaders will explore grading as a focus for ongoing network collaboration.
Cross-School Collaboration: The Return to School
Tuesday, July 21 | 11 AM - 12:30 PM
In anticipation of an atypical school year, administrators will convene to share their current plans for the return to school and consult with fellow leaders on open questions.
Cross-School Collaboration: 2020-21 Priorities

Building on school planning meetings earlier in the summer, leaders will collaborate around takeaways from 2019-20 data and strategy implementation and priorities for the year to come.

Educators will come together across RISE high schools to reflect on the 2019-20 school year, including COVID-19 school closures. We will focus on how these unprecedented experiences can and should improve education for years to come.
Grading for Equity Book Club

Grading affects students and educators in significant ways. As a network, we want to spend more time unpacking grading policies and practices. We will use Joe Feldman’s book, Grading for Equity, to kick off important network-wide conversations about grading.

Three meetings during the summer
Counselors leading summer melt texting campaigns will collaborate to help graduates pursue their college and career plans.
Grade 9 Transition Collaboration Calls
Wed., July 8, July 22, and August 5
Educators leading Grade 9 transition efforts (e.g., summer bridge, Grade 9 teams) will collaborate to promote successful high school transitions.

This summer, we are excited to offer professional learning opportunities for administrators and educators in June, July, and early August, as well as back-to-school sessions for all RISE educators in mid-to-late August. These meetings are designed to support strategy leaders in Grade 9 and CCR at each school formulate data-informed action plans for Grade 9 and CCR supports heading into 2020-21.
