I am so excited to share a preview of our editorial plans for the 2023-2024 school year. We have so many thrilling, knowledge-building stories, articles, and videos in development! How I wish I could teleport to your classrooms and be with you and your students when each issue arrives.

On the following slides, you’ll find what’s new, a calendar, a sneak-peak for spring, and our theme and skill collections.

What’s New?

  • Write Like a Pro This new feature presents a short fascinating article and highlights one of the writer’s “pro” moves—from vivid verbs and clauses to using colons and quotes.
  • More Grammar
    • Our grammar feature on pages 2 to 3 now focuses on key language and mechanics concepts, such as subject-verb agreement, possessives, and commonly confused words.
    • Lesson Plans now include a grammar spotlight, to make it easy to explore grammar in context.
  • Rubrics: We now offers rubrics for narrative, literary analysis, argument, and expository writing. Find them all in the Resource Library.
  • Root Power: We debuted this new feature last the spring, and we’re happy to report it is now a permanent feature! Each Root Power explores words with one Greek or Latin root through a short graphic-novel style story.
