1 凡从人间挑选的大祭司，是奉派替人办理属　神的事，为要献上礼物和赎罪祭（或作“要为罪献上礼物和祭物”）。

2 他能体谅那愚蒙的和失迷的人，因为他自己也是被软弱所困。

4 这大祭司的尊荣，没有人自取。惟要蒙　神所召，像亚伦一样。

5 如此，基督也不是自取荣耀作大祭司，乃是在乎向他说“你是我的儿子，我今日生你”的那一位；

6 就如经上又有一处说：“你是照着麦基洗德的等次永远为祭司。”

7 基督在肉体的时候，既大声哀哭，流泪祷告，恳求那能救他免死的主，就因他的虔诚蒙了应允。

8 他虽然为儿子，还是因所受的苦难学了顺从。

9 他既得以完全，就为凡顺从他的人成了永远得救的根源，

10 并蒙　神照着麦基洗德的等次称他为大祭司。

11 论到麦基洗德，我们有好些话，并且难以解明，因为你们听不进去。

The GOD-Fearing Man

Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers out there.

But also, I want to address that to all the men out there, whether you have children of your own, or you are living as an impact for the young around you.

I also am not just speaking today to Fathers who have young children in the home. You will never stop being a Father even when your children leave the protection of your home. You will always have a responsibility to father and grandfather if the Lord wills.

Its also never too late to try to make amends with your children if you have not had a great relationship with them.

There is nothing more amazing and exciting as caring for your children.

One thing is Fathers… your family is your most important ministry. They are your responsibility and should be your most important priority, next to GOD.

Today I want to give you 3 things that are crucially important to understand as a Father.

In order to do so, I need to first address the marriage.

Marriage is the foundational institute given to us by GOD in order to have a healthy home. Today, we know that not all fathers have their wife present. Not every wife has a husband present. In these cases the church family is very important. But most important in these cases is our Heavenly Father. That He is enough and will sustain us all.

Marriage between a Husband and Wife is the way that GOD has set up marriage and is the only way that honors GOD. He made it so specific that children would have both the influence and nurturing of a mother, but also the teaching protection and provision of a Father. The way God set it up, even in our broken society sets a child up their healthier future.

Men, I hope you desire to not just a mediocre father, or just a decent father, or even a “good” father… I hope your desire goes beyond that… I hope you desire to be a God-fearing Father.

The Bible tells the husband in Ephesians 5 to sacrificially love His wife as he does his own Body, and that he is to lead her in such a way that is holy and honoring to GOD. That a wife also in return should respect her husband.

26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge. 27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

26 敬畏耶和华的大有倚靠，他的儿女也有避难所。 27 敬畏耶和华就是生命的泉源，可以使人离开死亡的网罗。

Fear the Lord

Fearing the LORD. [Your relationship with GOD matters for you and your family]

The Fear of the Lord in the Father is a refuge for His children.

We know that no earthly father is a perfect father. God teaches us that a father who fears the LORD has strong confidence.

Confidence is huge. The "fear of the Lord" means fearing to dishonor the Lord. This is a reverence, but also a fear to not obey or to do it exactly how he says it. This fear brings a child of GOD into a reverent submission. This is the foundation to spiritual knowledge and wisdom.

While there are many wise people through out History, their wisdom compared to GOD is nothing comparable. The wisdom from GOD supersedes any earthly wisdom. There is nothing worse then giving someone half wisdom. When we look at the wisdom of humanity alone and without GOD, we only can receive something that lasts this life, but the Wisdom from our Heavenly Father goes on for eternity.

b. The Fear of the Lord is a fountain of Life

This Verse here sets the tone and standard for everything. I believe a Father who knows the LORD can be a father who can stand confidently and know that what advice and encouragement and legacy a father passes down to His Children that it is trustworthy and firm. Timeless truth that is set in the eternal Father.

A GOD-fearing father has the ability to pass down what the Heavenly Father has passed down.

Psalm 103:11-18

11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;

12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

15 As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children,

18 To such as keep His covenant, and to those who remember His commandments to do them.

Fathers, your children are watching you. They will most likely mimic you even if they try their best not to.

The example we set for our families is one that changes everything. If we don’t lead our lives in a way that fears the Lord, then our children wont either (unless the Holy Spirit intervenes).

Fathers I want to challenge you to stand firm in your faith and pursue GOD in fear of HIM, so your children can see the example.

Many times, how children might understand God’s love can sometimes be understood how their earthly Fathers loved them.

Train up a child in the way he should go,

And when he is old he will not depart from it.

2. Train Them at Home.

Teach them at home. Read the Bible together and you can use devotionals that will help them and you to be encouraged. Talk in a Christ like way about the major issues of the culture. Let them share with you and value their input.

Fathers Teaching their children to honor God with their future and not to just honor the parents hopes and dreams.

No father wants their child to not be able to make enough money to care for themselves and the possibility of their future family. But as a God Fearing Father, you were never made their Father so your wants and desires over rule that of God’s wants and desires for your child.

We also can understand a desire to receive honor and have pride in their child. Should we not desire even more for our child to honor God greater than that of a broken piece of a beautiful culture.

For the sake of the young generation we need as Christians to embrace Gods call on our children who belong to Christ.

Ephesians 6:4-5 6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Value the experiences that your children face. They may live in between many cultures and challenges and can get lost in those make sure they know they belong to you and are loved for whom GOD has made them and will make them into. Remind them that they need to honor God first in their lives.

Teach them at home. Read the Bible together and you can use devotionals that will help them and you to be encouraged. Talk in a Christ like way about the major issues of the culture. Let them share with you and value their input.

Proverbs 3:11-12 ~ My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof, for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

Psalms 127:3-5 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

We need to encourage our children to be thankful for how GOD has made them. Encourage them to seek truth from GOD, and to be alert for the temptations and sins of our time and culture.

Teaching them to value even the very gender of who GOD has gifted them to be.

If a son, to be thankful for that and to embrace that boys are built the way they are. They are to learn how to take responsibility for their lives and actions. To learn how to lead their families in a way that honors GOD.

For our girls that they know their value and worth and are an important part of GODs kingdom.

4 Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding; 2 For I give you good doctrine: Do not forsake my law. 3 When I was my father’s son, tender and the only one in the sight of my mother, 4 he also taught me, and said to me: “Let your heart retain my words; keep my commands, and live. 5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

众子啊，要听父亲的教训，留心得知聪明。 2 因我所给你们的是好教训，不可离弃我的法则。 3 我在父亲面前为孝子，在母亲眼中为独一的娇儿。 4 父亲教训我说：“你心要存记我的言语，遵守我的命令，便得存活。 5 要得智慧，要得聪明，不可忘记，也不可偏离我口中的言语。
