MPC Social Services

  • US 501(c)3 and Russian charitable organization
  • Founded in 1991
  • Supports people in need in the Moscow region:
    • Immigrants, mostly from Africa
    • Refugees from the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia
    • Low-income families (Russian/African biracial families, single-parent families, large families)
    • Elderly Russian people

Food Assistance Programs

Nonperishable food, including:

Rice (1 kilo bags)

Soup base (90 gram packs)

Milk (1 liter bottles)

Canned fish (250 gram cans)

Corn (150 gram cans)

Cooking oil (1 liter bottles)

Tea (200 gram boxes)

Cookies (125 gram bags)

Beans (425 ml cans)

Community Center

  • Plastic cups for tea and water
  • Disposable plates, bowls, spoons and forks for community events
  • Heavy-duty shelves to store nonperishable food

Clothes Distribution Center

  • Warm winter coats
  • Suitcases for people who are returning to their home country through our repatriation program
  • Warm outerwear, particularly for men (coats, hats, gloves, long underwear, socks, boots, etc.)
  • Men’s clothes (shirts, pants, etc.)
  • Warm clothes and snowsuits for babies
  • Warm blankets, sheets, and other bedding
  • Reusable cloth bags

Education

  • Educational books:
    • Teaching Russian and English to adults
    • Teaching French and Russian to children
  • Children’s classes for 3 to 6-year-olds: white printer paper, Play Dough, safety scissors, play rolling pins, cookie cutters, play tea sets, stickers, aprons, small stools like this, small tables like this

Medical Advice Center

  • Hygiene supplies: Hand soap, hand sanitizer, plastic cups, paper towels, cotton swabs, disinfectant wipes, disposable gloves, oral thermometer covers
  • Medical tests: pregnancy tests, lancets for fingersticks, OneTouch glucose test strips
  • Medical supplies: Ace bandages, crutches
  • Medications: Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Pepto-Bismol tablets, vitamins. Can be recently expired - it still works!

Nutritious Food for Patients

Healthy nonperishable food, including:

Women’s Medical Center

  • Baby care: baby blankets, wipes, washcloths, baby powder, slings, strollers, formula (NAN Hypoallergenic 1 and 2)
  • Breastfeeding supplies
  • Maternity clothes
  • Maternity support belts
  • Sanitary pads
  • Educational posters about women’s health

Craft Workshops

  • Yarn: acrylic or superwash wool
  • Crochet hooks
  • Knitting needles
  • Scrapbooking supplies (colored paper, stamps, ribbons)
  • Sewing supplies (fabric, needles, thread, buttons)
  • Beads, including gemstones and jewelry findings
  • Volunteers to teach craft workshops, particularly volunteers who speak French
