Bonjour!

My name is Ms. G-L

About Ms. G-L

Career

This is my 18th year teaching in Morrisville. I have taught every level of French, 10 years of Gifted, and many English courses.

Undergrad

My bachelor’s degree is from Susquehanna University in French and English Secondary Education.

Graduate

I earned my master’s in Applied Linguistics from University of Massachusetts, Boston.

Family

I am a mother to a son and a daughter– one in middle school and one in elementary.

Interests

I bring my many interests with me to the classroom. I often discuss nature, travel, baking, and quilting with my classes.

Here’s what we’ll work on this year:

This semester-long elective course is meant to teach students about Francophone (French-speaking) islands in the Caribbean. We will mainly focus on the history, culture, music, foods, and travel destinations of Haiti, Martinique, and Guadeloupe.

Students are asked to:

  • Keep cell phones away and silent in the pockets on the door
  • Keep earbuds and headphones away
  • Arrive on time and prepared to learn
  • Ask permission first
  • Be kind and respectful
  • Be your best version of yourself
  • Charge chromebooks every night

Schoology remains our digital learning platform. All classwork and assignments is posted to our class page.

I strongly encourage families to sit down with their student and look at Schoology on their Chromebook from time to time. This is the best way to keep informed about a student’s performance and assignments.

I will primarily use Remind for whole group communication to families.

For communication regarding individual students, I will either call or email.
