WELCOME TO THE UCMG
The University of Medical Sciences of Granma, with 40 years of experience in the training of health professionals for Cuba and more than a quarter of a century contributing to different geographical areas in the world, is a high academic, research, and professional improvement center, which aspires to excellence for the training of human resources that promote an increase in the quality of services, the transformation of the state of health and the degree of satisfaction of the population.
It is a house of high studies that works for the development of university processes with the highest quality, which allows it to occupy a leading place in the scientific direction of the provincial health system. It has a highly competent faculty, with a growing number of doctors in sciences and tenured professors, who are experts in solving the problems of the health sector in the territory and the nation.
The UCMG is located on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Guacanayabo, in the center of a health complex formed by the Teaching Surgical Clinical Hospital: Celia Sánchez Manduley, the Psychiatric Hospital: Comandante Manuel Fajardo and the Fe del Valle Gynecobstetric Hospital, surrounded by by a ring of primary health care institutions, all of which academically belong to the University, it has a Faculty of Medicine in Manzanillo and another in Bayamo.
